Medical imaging is often a necessity in today’s healthcare, because when a doctor sends you for diagnostic imaging services it’s pretty obvious that he or she is interested in getting more information on the medical subject at hand. So while you might be nervous heading for an MRI or CT scan, think of it as a necessity. Best to listen to you doctor in situations like this.
So what can you expect when you head to an imaging office? Or, put more bluntly, what should you expect? Let’s take a look at how an imaging office should treat you.
Speed and Efficiency
As we’ve mentioned before, there aren’t many people who enjoy waiting around at a medical imaging office. Most people want to get in, have the scan done quickly, and get as soon as possible. We know you have other things you’d rather be doing. We do everything we can to handle your scanning as efficiently as possible.
Still, that doesn’t mean that we don’t get behind occasionally. Like any medical office, certain procedures can take longer than usual depending on the conditions of patients who were in the office before you. We do everything we can to stay on track, but we hope you’ll understand that we’ll give you the same attention you deserve when it’s your time. After all, medical imaging isn’t something you want to rush.
There are two reasons that we act with discretion when it comes to our clients. The first is, obviously, that we’re legally required to do so. So we don’t really have a choice.
But if we did have a choice, we’d still be certain to keep your reason for being at our imaging center a secret. Sure, when someone comes in with a cast and is on crutches, there’s not much question as to why they’re there. But for many people, the problems they come in for are those that they’d rather not have others know about. This dedication to your private information begins with our training. We make sure that every member of the staff knows how important it is to never inadvertently reveal the reason for a patient's arrival.
We bring this up a lot, but that’s only because we know how important it is to our clients and making them feel comfortable at our diagnostic imaging center. The fact is that many people are coming in because they simply don’t know what’s wrong with them. Their doctor might say something like “it’s probably nothing, but we just want to rule out that it’s a tumor.” At which point most patients will only be worried that it’s a tumor. In fact, that’s probably the only thing that’s on their mind when they step through our doors.
Because our clients are so worried, be know how important it is to be kind to them and put their minds at ease. After all, many people we meet throughout the day are worried the news we relay to their doctor could change their lives considerably. They deserve kindness.
If you aren’t getting the service you need from your medical imaging center, we’d love to show you what we can do for you at Fair Lawn Imaging. Schedule an appointment today.
